January kicks off the start of a new year, and with that, the opportunity to change bad habits and resolve to do better. This January, we encourage you to add these three critical driving habits to your list of New Year’s resolutions, and help to make our roads a safer place for everyone.
- Put the phone away. Resolve to keep the phone out of reach in the car. We all know that texting, browsing social media, and otherwise looking down at your phone while on the road is incredibly dangerous, but too many people still text and drive. Put the phone out of reach, where it can’t be a temptation.
- Plan for a DD. Make sure you have a plan for how to get home before you go out. Stick to your plan, and call a cab or Uber in the event you find yourself without a sober driver.
- Always buckle up. Once buckling up becomes a habit, you won’t think twice. Seatbelts are the single most important and life-saving safety feature in your car, but they can’t work unless you buckle them.
