This October marks Stalker Chevy’s second in its strong commitment in the battle against breast cancer. All month long, Chevy employees, dealers, and customers will be sporting pink and raising money for the American Cancer Society to fund research, promote wellness, and educate the public on the growing threat of breast cancer, as well as to lend support to breast cancer patients and their families. Stalker Chevy plans to help everyone at Chevrolet blow last year’s total of $1.1 million out of the water.
As a symbol for the fight against this disease, which affects 1 out of 8 women, the towers of GM’s world headquarters at the Renaissance Center will glow bright with pink bands the whole month of October. These symbols will be a reminder of all the work every one of us can do to help fight the good fight against breast cancer.
Chevrolet is getting involved in a number of ways, like the hundreds and hundreds of employee- and dealership-sponsored breast cancer walks to raise funds. To raise awareness, a Making Strides Against Breast Cancer-themed pink Camaro SS pace car and a Techno Pink 2013 Chevrolet Spark will be making several appearances at these walks. Chevrolet has also hosted a “test drive” pledge, wherein Chevy donated $10 for every test drive done at a certified Chevy dealership.
Stalker Chevrolet is also offering a Chevrolet certified service rebate donation. When getting their cars serviced, customers can elect to donate some or all of their service rebates (up to $150), and Chevrolet will match the donation. Also in Des Moines is the Komen Iowa Race for the Cure, on October 27, 2012 at the State of Iowa Capitol Grounds. Information can be found online at http://www.komeniowa.org/komen-race-for-the-cure/race-information/.
Stalker Chevrolet encourages everyone to do their part—in whatever way they can—this month and all year long to help fight the battle against breast cancer!
