Movember is a movement across the United States and the world to promote awareness for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health in a unique collaborative way.
If you’ve heard of “No Shave November”, imagine that; but with a goal of health and wellness.
Prostate and testicular cancer can both be treated extremely effectively. About 1 in 1,500 die from testicular cancer and prostate cancer treatment has about a 97 percent success rate, if detected early. The key to a clean bill of health in both of these diseases is early detection.
It’s up to you and your to decide the best testing methods and whether there is a need for you to be tested, but it is important to know the risks and some facts about these cancers.
Men’s mental health is also a big reason to get involved in Movember. Men are typically less likely to be aware of a mental health issue, like depression, anxiety, psychosis, or schizophrenia. Severity and treatments of all of these issues vary, but with your help in supporting Movember we can learn more about these illnesses and create better treatments.
