2019 Silverado Sneak Peek

2019 Silverado Sneak Peek
Chevrolet Silverado

Before a new model can hit production, it has to be thoroughly road tested in the real world. However, automakers don’t want to give away their design secrets, so they use camouflage and padding to hide the finer points of a new model while it is out on the road. While it hides the details, it also makes it obvious that it is a test model.

Recently, we got a sneak peek at the upcoming all-new 2019 Silverado. Photographers recently caught the new model out testing and were able to capture a few shots of the truck with a lot of padding. However, from the details we can see, the new truck will gain a new headlight design, the side mirrors are being moved to the doors, there is a new grille design, and a larger air dam. Many of these features will seemingly help the truck be more aerodynamic to gain a few miles per gallon.

Another interesting detail captured was a side-exit exhaust. This could indicate that Chevrolet is testing a new engine for the Silverado 1500, which could either replace one of the existing engines or be a new available option.

While we don’t know when the 2018 Silverado will officially be unveiled, the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit in January is a likely bet.

Here at Stalker Chevrolet, we can’t wait to see what the next-generation Silverado has in store.

2014 Silverado 1500 Earns 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score

We take pride in knowing that all 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models have received 5-star Overall Vehicle Scores for safety from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Each 2014 Silverado 1500 went through the New Car Assessment Program. In terms of safety the program looks at technologies and equipment that help avoid collisions and reduce the risk of death or injury to occupants should a collision occur.

All models of the 2014 Silverado 1500 were awarded 5-star Overall Vehicle Scores for Safety.

The 2014 Silverado’s fully boxed frames are built with high-strength steel to protect passengers. In addition to the Silverado’s design, technology like Forward Collision Alert, Lane Departure Warning, OnStar®, rear vision camera with dynamic guidelines, Safety Alert Seat, six standard air bags, and more, help drivers avoid collisions and keep themselves and others safe. These features, coupled with many more, made the NHTSA feel the 2014 Silverado 1500 was worthy of its 5-star Overall Vehicle Scores for safety.

“Our incredibly capable trucks have been engineered to be some of the safest,” said Gay Kent, GM general director of Vehicle Safety and Crashworthiness. “We’ve designed the vehicle structure, strategically placed high-strength steel and developed the occupant restraint system to achieve high levels of safety performance.”

As the snow, ice, and cold temperatures continue to make driving conditions worse, a truck like the Silverado 1500 can really help avoid an accident. Features like four-wheel, four-channel, antilock disc brakes come in handy when you’re trying to come to a stop on a cold potentially icy road.

Like always we wish you safe travels as the weather finally starts to break from the frigid temperatures of the early week (We know 20 degrees is nothing to get excited about, but it sure beats -13).
