Chevrolet just delivered the 2017 Colorado ZR2, a sporty new pickup trim that promised off-road durability and impressive performance, to dealerships across the country. First introduced at the LA Auto Show in 2014 as a concept vehicle, the new ZR2 promises to deliver power and versatility like no other mid-size truck on the market.
According to Motor Trend, the new ZR2 will get an intelligent Multimatic DSSV damper system, a lifted suspension (by 2 inches), and a wider stance (by 3.5 inches). This new truck is designed for off-road performance, offering a taller ride height than the standard model, as well as a more rigid yet comfortable ride than previous model years. Plus, with a selectable Off-Road Mode, you can specially calibrate the engine, transmission, traction control, and suspension.
Under the hood of the latest Colorado is a 3.6-liter V6 engine that generates a whopping 308 horsepower, or alternatively a 2.8-liter turbo diesel engine with up to 181 horsepower and best-in-class torque. When equipped with the turbocharged diesel, the new ZR2 can tow up to 7,700 pounds. Other great features include the front and rear locking differentials for added handling and control.

There’s nothing quite as awesome as a Chevy off-road truck. The latest addition to the off-road lineup is the all-new 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2. This high-performance pickup will make its debut this spring and will have a starting price of $40,995 MSRP, including a $940 destination fee*.
Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director, said, “When you buy a ZR2 at the starting price of $40,995, you are getting all of the significant off-road technologies standard with the vehicle, as well as an eight-speed automatic transmission and a wealth of other features at no additional cost.”
With this price, the ZR2 is more than $2,000 less than the next comparable model, and isn’t any less capable. You’ll be able to take on high-speed desert runs, tackle two-track trails, and climb the steepest rock crawls.
Standard features at the MSRP price includes front and rear locking differentials, off-road rocker protection, modified front and rear bumpers for better clearance, cast-iron control arms, a transfer case shield, 31-inch Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac off-road tires, exclusive ZR2 17- by 8-inch aluminum alloy wheels, and more.
For those wanting even more features, the Colorado ZR2 has a number of desirable options. These include a seven-speaker Bose premium audio system, a full-length black vinyl floor, and a class-exclusive 2.8-liter Duramax Turbo-Diesel engine.
