Four Chevrolets Top 2016 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study

Four Chevrolet vehicles have been ranked at the top of their segment in the 2016 J.D. Power Vehicle Dependability Study, proving once again that when vehicle customers want reliability, their best bet is to go with Chevy.

2015 Malibu

The award-winning models included the following:

  • Camaro in the Midsize Sporty Car segment for the 4th consecutive year
  • Malibu in the Midsize Car segment for the 2nd consecutive year
  • Silverado HD in the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment for the 2nd consecutive year
  • Equinox in the Compact SUV segment

In addition, two other Chevrolet models were ranked in the top three of their respective segment; the Tahoe was ranked second in the Large SUV segment and the Silverado was ranked third in the Large Light Duty Pickup segment.

The study is based on problems reported in the last year by the original owners of three-year-old vehicles. The fewer problems were noted, the higher the model was ranked. If you like driving cars, SUVs, or trucks that have fewer problems than most others in the industry, then you’ll love our lineup at Stalker Chevrolet!

Chevrolet Receives Four IIHS 2015 Top Safety Pick Ratings

At Chevrolet, your safety is our number one priority. That is why it comes as no surprise that four different Chevrolet models have received the 2015 Top Safety Pick rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The 2015 Spark, Volt, Malibu, and Equinox each proved that not only are they aesthetically pleasing and capable, but they are also some of the safest cars in the industry.

“Receiving this recognition from IIHS for the 2015 Spark, Volt, Malibu, and Equinox is great news for Chevrolet and even greater news for our customers,” said Steven Majoros, director Chevrolet Cars and Crossover Marketing.

To earn the 2015 Top Safety Pick rating, each of the four vehicles had to receive a ‘good’ or ‘acceptable’ rating in the challenging small overlap front test, which is the most difficult crash test out there. Each vehicle also had to receive a good rating in the IIHS’ four other tests.

You may hear about the rankings of the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study (IQS) each year, but you probably wonder what goes into those rankings. Two years ago the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study was redesigned to its current format. The 2014 IQS is based on survey responses from more than 86,000 purchasers and lessees of new 2014 model year vehicles. These owners are surveyed within 90 days of ownership.

Malibu, Suburban, and Silverado HD may have ranked highest in their segments, but Chevrolet also had three more top three finishers, including Camaro, Equinox, and Tahoe.

Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president, Chevrolet stated, “Our primary focus at Chevrolet is on the customer, and building quality products is top priority for keeping that focus.”

We’re proud to be part of a brand that continues to provide vehicles that people love to drive. And Chevrolet keeps revamping an already impressive lineup. Over the past three years Chevy has revamped roughly 9 vehicles and added 3 more.  That’s a trend we want to see continue.

2013 Chevy Malibu Helps Show that Mothers Know Best

Mothers know all about safety, comfort, and style, so when it came to car creation, the Malibu Moms were ready to take the wheel.  The Malibu Moms are a group of four moms who also happen to be brilliant engineers.  For the 2013 Chevy Malibu these ladies combined their areas of expertise to make one amazing automobile.

One of the things that the Malibu Moms wanted to make sure they built into the 2013 Chevy Malibu was a quiet and smooth ride – so that they would be able to hear their kids talking in the background.

Rebecca Lindland, director of research at IHS Automotive, believes that women engineers offer a different perspective to the design and engineering process because they often have a more innate sense of safety and are generally more aware of family needs compared to men.

These views and other ideas from the Malibu Moms contributed in creating the all-new Malibu.  The 2013 Chevy Malibu will be in dealership in 100 countries over six continents.  Stop in to Stalker Chevrolet to find out what the Malibu Moms already know…mothers do know best.
