Earlier this year, Chevy unveiled the new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500—and at the most perfect time. Chevy pulled back the covers of the new pickup, which will soon be available at Stalker Chevrolet, on the very day that Chevrolet uncovered its first truck, back in 1918.
The new 2019 Silverado 1500 will increase in size (1.6 inches longer than the current Silverado), yet it will shed some serious poundage (450 lbs) as Chevy continues to improve fuel economy. One of the biggest improvements is to interior cargo volume: Chevy promises a class-leading 63 cubic feet in the short box model.
Another key feature that will set the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 apart from the competition is the available power up/down feature for the tailgate—a class-exclusive feature.
The Silverado 1500 will be available with different engine/transmission configurations, but the big news for the 2019 model is the addition of a Duramax inline six-cylinder diesel engine. Gas engines will include the 6.2-liter V8 and a new 5.3-liter V8. Both will boast Dynamic Fuel Management for improved fuel economy.
The new 2019 Chevrolet Silverado will be offered in eight trims: Work Truck, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, LT, RST, LT Trail Boss, LTZ, and High Country.
See it in person when it arrives at Stalker Chevrolet later this year.
If you haven’t heard, the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 officially debuted back in January at the North American International Auto Show, and there’s a whole lot to look forward to when it arrives here at Stalker Chevrolet. But these are the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features we’re most excited about:
New diesel engine: Chevrolet is offering a new Duramax 3.0-liter inline-six turbo-diesel engine. We have been expecting this for a while, since Chevy offers a diesel for other models here at Stalker Chevrolet, like the Equinox, Cruze, and Colorado, but still, we are pumped for solid and efficient performance from this new option.
Best-in-class cargo volume: Sure, most of the space you’ll want for your truck is in the bed, but who says the cabin can’t be roomy too? Chevy is promising class-leading cargo volume for the Silverado—up to 63 cubic feet of space.
A power tailgate: Another class-exclusive feature is the new available power up/down tailgate, which you can operate remotely with the key fob.
New trims: Chevrolet has added three new trims for 2019. They include Custom Trail Boss (with off-road equipment added to the Custom trim), LT Trail Boss (also adding off-road equipment, this time to the LT trim), and RST (giving the Silverado a street-performance appearance).
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will arrive at Stalker Chevrolet later this year, and we can’t wait to see it in person!
In 2009, when the world was going through a big financial downturn, Chevrolet reduced its lineup of pickup trucks. Now, heavy-duty Chevrolet work trucks are making a comeback for the 2019 model year as the 4500HD and 5500HD chassis-cab versions of the Silverado.
Chevrolet says that these new work trucks are not based on the current Silverado and will be built from the ground up. They will be aimed at commercial and fleet buyers and can be upfitted with a variety of beds and boxes for various work purposes.
Along with a lot of customization options, buyers will be able to choose from regular and crew cabs, 4×2 or 4×4 drivetrains, and a variety of weight ratings and wheelbases. Power will come from a Duramax® diesel engine and an Allison transmission, which is a combination already used on more than two million trucks.
“The Silverado 4500HD/5500HD trucks are the flagship of our full-line commercial truck portfolio and we’ve designed them to be among the best in the industry in maneuverability, serviceability, visibility, quietness and comfort, diesel fuel economy and more,” said Ed Peper, US vice president of GM Fleet, in a statement.
We expect to see the new Silverado 4500HD and 5500HD here at Stalker Chevrolet by the end of 2018.
Chevy will spend the rest of 2017 celebrating its trucks and the loyal customers who have owned them in the last century with a variety of programs and products, including the Centennial Editions of the Silverado and Colorado.
The Centennial Edition comes with the exclusive Centennial Blue paint color, as well as plenty of special badging, like the heritage bowtie emblem on floor liners, spray-in bed liner, and doors.
Besides unique centennial badging, the Centennial Edition comes with a body-color rear bumper and accessory grille, chrome moldings, chrome accessory tow hooks, optional 18-inch wheels, and more. The Centennial Edition is offered on the LTZ Z71 trim Crew Cab of the Silverado.
The Silverado and Colorado Centennial Editions are limited, and they’re an essential buy for Chevy truck lovers, so you don’t want to miss them!
If you’re interested in the 2018 Chevrolet Silverado Centennial Edition or the Colorado Centennial Edition, come to Stalker Chevrolet today and take one for a spin.
Before a new model can hit production, it has to be thoroughly road tested in the real world. However, automakers don’t want to give away their design secrets, so they use camouflage and padding to hide the finer points of a new model while it is out on the road. While it hides the details, it also makes it obvious that it is a test model.
Recently, we got a sneak peek at the upcoming all-new 2019 Silverado. Photographers recently caught the new model out testing and were able to capture a few shots of the truck with a lot of padding. However, from the details we can see, the new truck will gain a new headlight design, the side mirrors are being moved to the doors, there is a new grille design, and a larger air dam. Many of these features will seemingly help the truck be more aerodynamic to gain a few miles per gallon.
Another interesting detail captured was a side-exit exhaust. This could indicate that Chevrolet is testing a new engine for the Silverado 1500, which could either replace one of the existing engines or be a new available option.
While we don’t know when the 2018 Silverado will officially be unveiled, the North American International Auto Show held in Detroit in January is a likely bet.
Here at Stalker Chevrolet, we can’t wait to see what the next-generation Silverado has in store.
During the Chicago Auto Show, Chevrolet brought out all the stops for its pickup truck lineup, showcasing three special editions—the Colorado GearOn, the Silverado Midnight, and the Silverado Custom—that show off the brand’s versatile trucks. Now, the American carmaker has yet another truck accessories package to offer us and we have to say—it might be the best yet.
For an additional $1,595 to the Silverado WT’s starting price tag of $28,895, the Chevrolet Silverado Black Out Package adds an intimidation factor to the already intimidating pickup truck. Simple upgrades like 20-inch, five-spoke black wheels, deep tinted glass, and an all-black exterior color creates a menacing, yet sophisticated silhouette that is enhanced by black bowtie badging. Add the Silverado WT’s already class-leading capabilities and the package makes the popular pickup truck a top-notch choice for any truck lover.
For those of you interested in adding a bit of menace to your driveway, dealers are taking orders for the Chevrolet Silverado Black Out Package. Stop in to Stalker Chevrolet to put your order in today!

The North American International Auto Show opens each year by handing out various prestigious awards. The most coveted awards include the North American Car of the Year and North American Truck/Utility of the Year. On Monday, Chevrolet took home both.
That’s right. Two of Chevy’s magnificently redesigned vehicles grabbed the top spots in each division. General Motors had another impressive showing, as several models appeared on the finalist list.
For Chevrolet it would have been a big year, regardless of the awards. The much anticipated release of the Stingray and Silverado were met with much adulation, and at NAIAS the praise continued.
To receive the North American Car of the Year and/or North American Truck/Utility of the Year, 48 full-time automotive journalist vote on winners from a list of finalist.
Awards for both the Corvette Stingray; the seventh production of the bringing back a famed moniker, and the Silverado; a complete redesign and third evolution of the truck, show how dedicated Chevrolet has been to making consumer focused vehicles.
Recently promoted GM CEO Mary Barra said, “I hope that people look and if they haven’t considered General Motors or Chevrolet, they’ll get into the showroom, because I’m confident if they get into the showroom they’ll see a lot of vehicles they like.”
We’re certainly proud of the strides Chevrolet has made to put better vehicles on the road and we look forward to continued success and even more new vehicles in the future! (Chevy SS, anyone?)
